My feature length(Yeah, I know kinda freakin' crazy eh?) review/retrospective of one of my all time favorite flicks, the much maligned Howard The Duck(1986) starring Ed Gale, Lea Thompson, Jeffery Jones, Tim Robbins, Chip Zien, Paul Guilifoyle, Holly Robinson Peete, and Richard Edsen. Directed by Willard Hyuck. Note: I was originally going to upload this in six parts on my main channel with a cool little intro but my movie maker published the final videos with a giant ugly green bar on em so I said fuck it and went the easy way, because WMM is total shit and is really starting to grind my gears. PS It was Martin Short who auditioned for the voice of Howard not Robin Williams. Trivia Popular vocalist Tori Amos auditioned for the part of Beverly Switzler, eventually played by Lea Thompson. Howard landed on Earth on 8 September. It was on that date in 1966 that Star Trek premiered on NBC. Phoebe Cates auditioned for the role of Beverly that eventually went to Lea Thompson. The ! ultra light aircraft used in the movie was a Quicksilver MX. Executive producer George Lucas spent $2 million on Howard's duck suit, and eight different actors worked inside the costume. According to the 2009 DVD release, a child actor was intended to be the "main" Howard, but didn't work out; another actor, Ed Gale ended up performing the lion's share of the major scenes as Howard and as such earned himself a credit at the start of the film.
