A fascinating collection of the 1924 & 1925 British Empire Exhibition stamps (SG 430 - 433), all used and painstakingly collected for interesting postmarks, dramatic multiples & other unusual items. Briefly we see POST OFFICE TRAINING SCHOOL vertical bar overprints on 1924 1d scarlet & 1½d brown both never hinged mint; RAILWAY TPO & OTHER CHOICE CDS POSTMARKS a stunning array of stamps including pairs & blocks of four & six, also on piece 1d & 1½d combinations, all collected for their lovely cds cancellations; EXHIBITION SPECIAL CANCELS collected on a spectacular array of singles, pairs & blocks with the circular types from Wembley Park, Palace of Engineering etc, also a spectacular collection of the slogan types (some on pieces displaying full cancellations) incl "London Defended" but chiefly the "Wembley Park" types with some pretty multiples (note a 1924 1d scarlet block 4 with upper pair having the slogan pmk & lower pair with special Wembley Park cds's) and other eye-! catching items. We also see some lovely blocks (largest 1925 1d scarlet block 9) with parcel pmks including a single piece bearing block of four of both 1924 1d & 1½d values together, we also note a "The Daily News" wrapper with 1924 1d scarlet tied special Empire Exhibition cds PLUS SO MUCH MORE. A fascinating collection that took many years to build. Highly recommended (200+ items) www.sandafayre.com
